A Moment in Red

A Moment in Red

I found these begonias on a quiet afternoon, tucked in a corner of a garden that seemed to have forgotten the world. The air was still, heavy with the scent of damp soil and leaves.

I knelt down, and the red just pulled me in—so deep and alive against the green. For a while, I didn't even think about my camera. I just watched the way the light caught each petal, soft and even, as if the sky had decided to hold its breath. There was no wind, no birdsong, just the low hum of a bee somewhere nearby.

I remember thinking how easy it is to walk past such small beauty, to let the day rush by. But kneeling there, I felt a kind of peace—like the flower was waiting just for me to notice. When I finally raised my camera, it felt less like taking a photo and more like keeping a memory safe. Back home in Japan, I often think of that garden, though I'm thousands of miles from Nepal.

It reminds me that home isn't always a place—it can be a moment, a color, a quiet pause. I hope this image brings you a little of that stillness too.
