A Quiet Push
By Madan Shrestha

I was walking through a busy part of the city, the usual hum of distant cars and chatter filling the air. My mind was probably on something else entirely, until a flicker of green caught my eye. Right there, between the cold, grey bars of a metal fence, a single stalk of foxtail grass had found its way through. It wasn't a grand scene, no sweeping landscapes or rare creatures. Just this one persistent little plant, reaching for the sunlight. I stopped for a while, just watching it sway ever so slightly in the gentle breeze. The light was soft, making its green glow against the dull metal, a tiny beacon of life in an otherwise very structured, man-made space. It always amazes me, how nature keeps pushing, keeps finding a foothold, no matter where it is. This little sprout, against all odds, was a quiet reminder of that incredible, unwavering will to live. It was a good day to remember that beauty and strength aren't always loud; sometimes, they're just a whisper.
