Little forager
By Honey Bee Photography

I had been lying on my stomach for a while, just watching this honey bee work its way across a cluster of white blossoms. The air was still, warm, carrying that faint sweet smell of nectar.

Every few seconds it would pause, hover, then dip its head deep into the flower. I could hear the low hum of its wings vibrating against the silence. There was something meditative about watching it — the way it moved with such purpose, never rushing, never hesitating. I didn't think about the shot. I just stayed there, breathing slowly, letting the moment unfold. When it finally landed on this one bloom, backlit by the soft afternoon light, I pressed the shutter once.

That was it. Sometimes the best photos are the ones you almost miss because you were too busy being present. I think that's a good thing.
