Morning at the coast

Morning at the coast

I got to this spot before the sun had fully climbed over the horizon. The air was cold and still, the kind of stillness that makes you feel like you're the only person awake in the world.

Mount Fuji was there, as it always is, but that morning it felt different — softer, almost shy behind a thin haze. The water was a deep blue-gray, and the waves were gentle, just a soft push and pull against the rocks.

I sat for a long time, just watching. No rush. No other photographers around. Just the mountain, the sea, and the sound of water shifting. Sometimes the best moments aren't about getting the shot — they're about being there when the light changes and the world feels balanced.

I took this photo when a single cloud drifted past the peak, and for a second, everything was still. Looking back at it now, I think that's why I keep coming back to the coast. Not for a perfect postcard, but for those quiet minutes when the mountain and the ocean remind you that patience is its own reward.
